Austin Butler Says Lisa Marie Presley's Response to 'Elvis' Film 'Brought Me to Tears'

Elvis Presley actor Austin Butler is receiving a lot of praise for his role. In the upcoming Baz Luhrmann-directed biopic, Butler plays the King of Rock n Roll.

Notwithstanding the praise from critics, the 30-year-old actor has also gotten rave reviews from Elvis' former wife, Priscilla Presley, and his daughter, Lisa Marie Presley.

According to Butler in an interview with the New York Times, Lisa Marie's positive response "brought me to tears."

The pressure I have felt is doing justice to Elvis, Butler said in the interview.

She said she wants everyone to love the film. Lisa Marie shared her thoughts about the film on Instagram earlier this month.

The daughter of Elvis and Priscilla wrote a touching post after a private screening of the film twice.

Lisa Marie hailed the film as "absolutely exquisite" and "nothing short of spectacular."

In a comment on the film's promotional poster, she wrote: "Austin Butler channeled and embodied my father's heart and soul beautifully."

According to her, "his performance is unprecedented and FINALLY accurate and respectful."

This beautiful film captures Baz's love, affection, and respect for my father, and it is something that I, my children, and their children can be proud of for a lifetime."

The reaction of Lisa Marie's children to the film moved her to tears.

In addition, the singer stated that she was heartbroken that her son, Benjamin Keough, wasn't alive to see the film.

Priscilla, who was married to Elvis from 1967-1973, praised Butler for his "Outstanding performance." Pricilla also coordinated Prada outfits with Butler during the 2022 Met Gala.
