Brittney Griner's wife reveals her 'Complete Vulnerability' in plea for help

In February, WNBA player Brittney Griner was arrested and detained in Russia after authorities allegedly found hash oil cartridges in her luggage

Cherelle Griner, wife of WNBA star Brittney Griner, has appealed for President Joe Biden's help as Brittney Griner, 31 

remains in Russia, where she has been detained since February 17.

The 28-year-old opened up about feeling helpless to obtain Brittney's safe release in a recent interview.

She told ESPN 's Angela Rye that only one person could get her, and that was our president. 

His power is there. I'm just like, 'Why aren't we using it?' We're expecting him to make use of it."

Cherelle said that the Phoenix Mercury has provided her support since Brittney's detention.  

Despite speaking with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken; NBA Commissioner Adam Silver; and Cherelle's concern for Brittney's well-being remains, says WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert.
