Dwayne Wade's ex-wife, Siohwan Funchess-Wade, the star's first wife and the mother of his two grown children filed the paperwork this week.

They asked the judge to postpone their daughter Jaya's gender change until she turns 18.

In Funches-Wade's plea to the judge, she claimed the NBA star was exploiting their daughter for financial gain.

According to The Blast, Funchess-Wade has feelings that Jaya was pressured to make a permanent change by Dwayne.

"I am concerned that (Dwayne) is pressuring us to go ahead with our child's name and gender change in order to take advantage of financial opportunities from companies," she said in the filing.

The filing was in response to Dwayne's August petition seeking permission for Jaya to change her name from Zion Malachi Iramis Wade to Jaya Malachi Iramis Wade.

Jaya came out as transgender in 2020 at the age of 12.

Dwayne's argument regarding his ex-wife's petition is that he is the legal guardian of their children and accepts that he has the legal right to make decisions on behalf of his daughter.
