The Department of Education in New York City has placed a ban on ChatGPT.
A hugely popular chatbot that some have worried might encourage greater student cheating.
That from being used on school computers and networks.
The decision to prohibit ChatGPT

That was made due to worries about its "adverse effects on student learning."
According to department spokesman Jenna Lyle.
"While the program might well be able to provide convenient and simple answers to questions.
It should not build critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
