Johnny Depp Gets Unfavorable Decisions on Jury Instruction

Amber Heard's defamation trial could hinge on jury instructions.

Depp's former attorney Adam Waldman, who was banished from the case

will not have his free speech rights considered in the defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.

The judge overseeing the case sided with Heard's lawyers in a key ruling on jury instructions, finding Waldman does not qualify for privilege

a defense to defamation, because his statement was not in response to anything Heard said or wrote.

A decision the other way could have resulted in the jury denying Heard's $100 million counterclaim against Depp.

Waldman is the central figure in the trial other than Heard and Depp.

She claims that Depp defamed her by calling her abuse allegations a hoax through Waldman.
