Kanye West, or Ye as he is now known, is buying the controversial social media network Parlour

It is promoting "free speech" as an alternative to platforms like Twitter.

Parlor's parent company Parliament Technologies announced the news in a press release on Monday

Yes wrote that the purchase "furthers the fight to create a truly irrevocable environment."

The deal will expire by the end of this year.

"In a world where traditional views are considered contentious, we must ensure that we have the right to express ourselves freely," Yeh said in Parlor's official statement.

George Farmer, CEO of Parliament Technologies, said, "This deal will change the world and change the way the world thinks about free speech."
