Shiba Inu ($SHIB) Adds 30,000 Holders in a Month as Burn Rates Keep Climbing
Shiba Inu ($SHIB), a meme-inspired cryptocurrency, added over 30,000 new holders over the past 30 days
even as it's price plummeted, as SHIB's burn rate continued to rise.
Shiba Inu now has 1,169 million token holders on the Ethereum blockchain, up from around 1.134 million late last month, as Ethereum wallets added SHIB to their holdings.
While its price plunges, the meme-inspired cryptocurrency has added over 30,000 holders in a month.
SHIB's price has fallen 55% over the past 30 days as a result of the collapse of the Terra ecosystem, exacerbated by the wider crypto market sell-off.
Several new holders have joined the cryptocurrency's community at a time when Shytoshi Kusama
SHB's lead developer, has predicted an announcement that will "floor everyone."
Recently, the SHIB team announced that entertainment industry veteran Marcie Jastrow has joined its metaverse team to work on “Shib
The Metaverse.” Jastrow has worked in the entertainment industry for over 20 years and is an “early pioneer in Immersive.”
Kusama has said in the past that the deal will "break the internet," noting many don't realize it is happening right before their eyes.
Earlier this week, Shiba Inu's burn rate jumped 800% in a day to 12.6 billion tokens after the cryptocurrency's burn portal started distributing $RYOSHI rewards to those who burned their tokens.
From April 23 until rewards started being distributed, the SHIBArmy burned around 29.5 billion $SHIB since launching the burn portal.
