Zelenskyy shuts down Newsmax interviewer who tried to get him to say there would be no war if Trump were president
Zelenskyy was asked by a Newsmax host if Trump could have prevented Russia's invasion.
It doesn't matter which party is in power in the US, Zelenskyy said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy shut down a Newsmax interviewer who insisted that there wouldn't be a war in Ukraine if former President Donald Trump were still president.
Newsmax anchor Rob Schmitt interviewed Zelenskyy about Russia's invasion of Ukraine on Tuesday in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine.
Zelenskyy was asked by Schmidt, "Do you think a different American leadership, a different Western leadership, might have prevented this aggression?"?
Many Americans believe this invasion would not have occurred if Donald Trump had still been in the White House. What is your opinion?"
In his response, Zelenskyy thanked US President Biden for his assistance, adding that it was important for Ukraine to have the support of the American people, regardless of which party is in power.
Basically, Zelenskyy said: "I think the most important thing is the assistance of the Americans."
The money allocated to support Ukraine comes from their taxes, and that's all the humanitarian, financial, military support that Ukraine receives.
My gratitude goes out to the president of the United States as well as the members of the political parties who support us."
"Sorry if I say something you do not like, but for us as a country in war, it doesn't matter who supports us. It's the people of the United States." he said.
